Now that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been in the hands of Xbox gamers for over two months, Activision is starting to lay out its DLC plans for the year. Customers who nabbed Call of Duty: Elite premium subscriptions can look forward to snagging new Modern Warfare 3 content starting on January 24; the first of five packs promised throughout March and the first of 20 drops due throughout the nine-month Modern Warfare 3 Content Season.
The first two pieces of content will come out on January 24, with the second piece to follow before mid-February. Both drops will include multiplayer maps, with an under-siege Central Park stage called Liberation and an Italian village called Piazza serving as the first two new battlegrounds. A third content pack is due by mid-February, two more set to come in March, and at least one content drop promised per month throughout the entire nine-month period.
What else can you expect during the Modern Warfare 3 Content Season? Activision is promising multiplayer maps, Special Ops Missions, and additional game modes and more (we’re hoping “more” includes new campaign content, but we’re not holding our breath). Activision has not revealed any release dates for the standalone content pack release dates (and prices) for non-Elite subscribers. As soon as we hear that info, we will pass it along.
